If you are following this STEEM account, you already know that I like to publish some “other” movies, and when I say “other” I think on those less famous, but very good movies with great stories. One which gets into this category is the Australian movie High Ground, filmed completely in the land of Ozzies. It was premiered yesterday at the Berlin International Film Festival, Germany and it will come very soon to the theaters.
The story is situated in 1919, in Northern Australia and follows a Policeman Travis, who was fighting in WWI as a sniper. He lost control of an operation which has led to the massacre of an Indigenous tribe. His superiors want to hide the truth and he leaves, but comes back 12 years later to hunt down an Aboriginal warrior. But, his past comes to the eyes of truth and the hunter becomes the prey...
The director of the movie is Stephen Johnson, known for the movie Yolngu Boy (2001) and TV Series Out There (2003) and Dead Gorgeous (2010). The writer is Chris Anastassiades, who was worked before with Stephen on the movie Yolngu Boy (2001), but he has also written a lot of episodes for TV Series as Pirate Islands: The Lost Treasure of Fiji (2007) or Legacy of the Silver Shadow (2002-2003).
In the main roles are Golden Globe nominee Simon Baker (TV Series The Mentalist (2008-2015), Margin Call (2011), The Devil Wears Prada (2006)), Callan Mulvey (Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016), Outlaw King (2018), 300: Rise of an Empire (2014)), Jack Thompson (Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil (1997), Breaker Morant (1980), Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002)), Caren Pistorius (Slow West (2015), The Light Between Oceans (2016), Mortal Engines (2018)), Ryan Corr (Holding the Man (2015), Wolf Creek 2 (2013), The Water Diviner (2014)) and others.
