Porsche Carrera Cup is a popular series, with many entrants. Seeing all these racing Porshes lined up is quite a sight.
They used a different entry/exit and car park as a pit area. The main pits are of course busy with the F1 teams, meaning we could actually get close up to these cars ... Watching them snake out onto the circuit, it was wonderfully loud and smelly ...
Race marshal keeps a watchful eye and is on radio to other members at all times
Porsches screaming around the Singapore street circuit, late afternoon. A different vibe to the F1 race which takes place in the dark.
Sponsors and livery can make for unique looks. This one looked very tidy indeed. Those wheels ... very nice, very porsche

TinTin Porsche ... sponsorship helps cover costs, or is often done by the company owners who are rich enough to go and play, and get great marketing and client entertainment out of it
She was (I believe) the first professional female racing driver to have come from the PRC.
Gentlemen's (and Ladies) Racing
The Porsche car company is reknowned for it's sportscars. However, another important and expensive product line up is the racing cars. In series arranged in various regions around the world, teams or corporations can sign up to use these customer-prepared cars in their own livery and run as a racing team. This was a warm-up to the Singapore F1 race 2011. Because the Porsche 911 is one of my all time favorite sports cars, they deserve thier own post here. In fact, to this day I wish I'd taken a lot more pictures of them!
Well Prepped
These cars are designed and built as bespoke racers and are not road legal. They start as bare shells and are prepared at the Porsche factory for racing. As such, they may look a lot like a 911 - however they are quite a bit more hardcore. Just one seat, no sound-deadening, and over 500 horsepower hanging over the rear wheels. Absolutely would like to have a go!
