Despite 18 dead and over 1000 injured by Israel Defense Forces (IDF) at the Gaza-Israel border this week, Israel claims to have used a proportional and targeted amount of force. Protests are expected to continue for the next six weeks, in an attempt at a "Palestinian return to Jerusalem."
In Washington DC, activists with "Codepink: Women for Peace," organized a protest outside the White House drawing attention to the violence and condemning the IDF's response. They say U.S. tax dollars are effectively funding Israeli violence via foreign aid and called for use of "Boycott, Divest, Sanctions" (BDS) as well as domestic tax protests.
