We don't see these birds very often. The white ones are quite common but the black ones don't come through very often, some locals say once every 10 years. A couple of years ago we saw many over a several weeks but nothing since. I was starting to think the locals were right and they still might be as this one was alone and previously we had always seen them in groups of at least 2 or 3.
I struggled to get some good clear photos as he was well camouflaged up high in the Casuarina tree he was feeding in. I say he as I think the red tail feathers mean it's male. I would have completely missed him but
