Benchmark Highlights: AMD's Red Team Takes the Lead
Both processors have been available in laptops for several months, and independent reviewers have conducted numerous benchmarks. However, AMD’s latest results emphasize the impact of its upscaling technologies, which the company claims dramatically amplify its competitive edge.
According to AMD, the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 achieves a lead of over 50 FPS in certain titles compared to Intel’s Core Ultra 7 258V. Some of the highlighted games include:
F1 24
Far Cry 6
Forza Horizon 5
Doom Eternal
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6
In other games, the Ryzen processor still outperforms by over 30 FPS. All games in the benchmark were tested at 1080p resolution with medium graphics presets, a common configuration for gaming laptops.
AMD FSR 3 Outshines Intel XeSS
The performance boost of AMD’s FSR (FidelityFX Super Resolution) technology has been a key driver in these benchmarks. AMD directly compared its FSR 3 technology, including its frame generation feature, to Intel’s competing XeSS (Xe Super Sampling). According to AMD, the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 achieves more than double the performance gains in some scenarios compared to Intel’s processors when these technologies are utilized.
AMD also pointed out that its Fluid Motion Frames 2 (AFMF 2) further enhances the Ryzen processor’s advantage. However, tests showed that even when Intel’s Core Ultra 7 258V was paired with FSR, the rival chip’s performance could not keep pace with AMD’s offering.
