This was one of the biggest sensations of my college years. It has serious production flaws and some not so great acting in many of the roles, but the ambiance of the overall film is undeniable. It's a shame what the did with the butchering of the sequel and especially the completely unnecessary remake.

oh the soundtrack for this movie probably sold even better than the film did.
