Both Ragz and Luis had an idea, a great idea: to form a band that could win over as many people as possible with their music. They had been mulling it over for quite some time, but hadn't taken the plunge because things hadn't fallen into place. They met through the music scene. Before meeting, each had a promising career; one was a solo artist, and the other was in a well-established band. They weren't just up-and-coming singers; they already had a large following and several songs that could be considered truly excellent.

They met through a musical collaboration. Luis's band needed a second singer for a song that required one; it wasn't for a solo artist. And when they saw how well Ragz was doing, they realized he was perfect for the song they were working on. After the collaboration, they both enjoyed working together so much that they thought it would be great to do it again; they had to record another song. But although Ragz wanted to, Luis couldn't because he wasn't the lead singer of the band, and they had already agreed not to.

Because of this, the two of them collaborated on a song together, and it was a huge success. Luis's band was upset because they didn't agree with their singer collaborating with others without their permission, so he was kicked out of the band. It was very sudden, and there was no possibility of him returning.

After that incident, the two of them wanted to continue working together, as now, without the burden of the old band, they were free to keep singing. And so they did for quite some time. That's where we get to the beginning. They had the idea of forming a band together, but they still lacked certain things to bring that idea to fruition. Among them was finding the right musicians for the project; they wanted to avoid having envious people in the group, like in the previous band, who could kick you out for just one collaboration. They also needed a good songwriter, since hits were necessary to keep the group together.

And funds, lots of funds, because forming the band required a significant investment in promoting themselves and preparing everything. Although they had funds, they simply couldn't be left with nothing. These things, and other details, are what delayed everything, and the big idea couldn't be realized. They told each other they could wait until everything they needed fell into place to form the group. But those things didn't happen, and they both became desperate because they couldn't create the band.

So they got tired of it, the idea faded a bit, and each of them continued making music, waiting for their big moment. Just when it seemed the idea would be forgotten, Luis had another idea. They could create an album and use 100% of the proceeds solely to finance the new band, finally bringing it to fruition. Ragz liked the idea, but only half-heartedly, because it meant working hard on everything involved in making an album, only to end up not seeing a single dollar. Despite everything, he agreed because he saw it as an investment; he just wanted it to work.

They used their personal funds to create the album, and what they earned was entirely dedicated to the band, just as they had agreed. They began searching for members. Finding the right people was complicated, but after several long months, they found them all. More than success, they looked for only two things: talent and moral commitment, as they had to be willing to support each other and not just think about profit.

Finding a songwriter was the hardest part, but they found him. He was perfect for the new group because he had a great imagination. With everything in place, they were ready to begin. They named the band Zen in honor of peace and tranquility, because that is what they want to convey with their music.
