What happens when you have two dreams and both come true at the same time, but you can only choose one? Michaela was asking herself that question very recently because that's exactly what happened to her. Before her two goals came true, she longed for them intensely and thought that one day she would have both in her life. Each dream was different. On the one hand, she wanted to become a professional singer and completely master music. That was always her main goal, and she was very clear about it.

And the second was to find her soulmate, that is, her ideal love, and get married. To anyone else, those things complement each other perfectly, and there's no problem with both being fulfilled almost simultaneously. But she discovered that it's not like that, that it's not how people think or say. It all happened like this. She was about to graduate from music school; she had been studying music for several years. She had great talent and knew she was made to sing and achieve whatever she set her mind to.

Among the things she wanted to achieve in music was to collaborate with one of her favorite singers, the one she looked up to when she was younger. And then to write many beautiful songs. Just a few weeks before graduating, she met Fundy. Every morning before going to music school, Michaela would stop to buy ice cream at a nearby shop. That's where she met him. Fundy also had the habit of stopping to buy one every morning. They gradually became interested in each other.

They each bought the same flavor of ice cream with the same sprinkles and other extras. That caught their attention. It seemed they liked the same things. Every morning they started greeting each other, exchanging a few words, and talking a little about how their day was going. The more they got to know each other, the more they agreed on everything; they were practically made for each other. They had the same tastes, thought alike about many things, and saw the world the same way. There was only one difference: he wasn't a musician, he was a shareholder in a company, but he was doing very well, earning a lot.

When Michaela told him she wanted to be a singer, he thought it was fine and didn't say anything. Each of them already knew the other was interested in him or her. The relationship became official when Fundy bought her ice cream one morning and told her how he felt. What a joy because he was the ideal and perfect man for her; she would hardly find anyone like him. And he thought the same; they were each other's soulmates. By this time, she had already graduated from music school and was ready to pursue her second dream: to be a singer. But things didn't go as she expected.

Their relationship was well underway, and they had been together for some time. Fundy had already proposed, and she had accepted. They even had a wedding date set. But something heartbreaking happened. Fundy felt envious of Michaela for the first time. If she became a singer, she would be wealthier than him, and therefore he would be the lesser figure in the relationship. He earned a good salary, but never at the level of a singer. Because of this, before they married, he asked her to give up her career and not to worry about money, assuring her that he would ensure she lived in luxury—and he certainly could. This was the dilemma: what would she choose, her soulmate or music?

Michaela explained that she wasn't pursuing singing for the money; it was because it was a part of her life and a dream. She couldn't abandon the career she had already begun. She even told him not to worry if he thought she would neglect her home life to be out singing. She would establish clear priorities to always be present at home and keep them together. Fundy wouldn't budge; he wanted her at home, afraid she would surpass him. So Michaela had to decide. Although she loved him and wanted him with all her heart, she couldn't do what he wanted. Therefore, the relationship ended, and they both suffered greatly. It was a shame he wasn't willing to compromise.

That's what happens when two dreams come true together, and you can only choose one. That's life. But Fundy isn't the only man in the world; surely there's a soulmate out there waiting. Michaela is certain she did the right thing in time. It's better to act before getting married than to end a marriage over these differences. Because she was able to focus on her main dream, she became the singer she wanted to be.
