You never know who's going to stab you in the back; it can come from anyone, from any direction. That stab in the back is sometimes literal, in an emotional sense. Jedd experienced that very recently. It came from someone he considered his friend, even more than that—a brother. Although they weren't blood relatives, the time they spent together had forged a deep bond of trust. It all happened just six months ago, but their working relationship had actually begun long before that.

As a young man, Jedd formed a band with several friends he met online. They had been talking on social media for a while and finally decided they should create a band. Each of them had what it took to make the project grow. The band consisted of the typical musicians: guitarists, a drummer, and everything else. But they had something unique: this band wouldn't be just a single lead singer; it was designed to have a choir. Several singers would perform on every song.

When they started the project, everyone loved their singing style and the unique feature of having a multi-singer choir. Together they created many hit songs. Jedd was a singer just like the others, but he had other important roles that made him stand out. He was the songwriter. Not for all of them, but for the most important ones. His talent was evident because none of the songs written by the others reached the same level of success as his.

Every time Jedd announced he'd finished another song, the band knew a major hit season was coming. Many respected him for that. This band also had other peculiarities. They didn't release albums very frequently, usually one every two years, or sometimes more. But each album was a smash hit when it came out. They were great. Since the band's workload wasn't that intense, each member could create independently while the band was on hiatus with no concerts or upcoming albums. That's why most of the musicians and backing vocalists had separate solo careers.

Many were solo artists and created music on their own. Jedd, however, was completely dedicated to the band and focused solely on its growth. It's no wonder his songs are the best on every album. Everything was flowing smoothly, but the betrayal was about to begin. One of the backing vocalists, Jedd's best friend, had a solo career like the others. But he was doing terribly as a solo artist; the results he was getting were embarrassing. The failure filled him with rage, and it blinded him, leading him to stab Jedd in the back when he had the chance.

That's when we arrive at just six months ago when it all happened. Jedd was preparing a song for the group to commemorate the band's 10th anniversary. He presented it to his friend Toni for a look and his opinion. Upon hearing it, Toni knew the band would shine with that song. It was very good. But his previous anger over his failures drove him to do something unthinkable: he took advantage of Jedd's distraction and copied the song.

Toni quickly adapted the song for himself to sing solo, making minor adjustments. He released the song before the band, and as expected, it was a huge success. When the band members found out, especially Jedd, they felt betrayed. They saw what he had done. What hurt them most wasn't the betrayal itself, but seeing that he hadn't respected their friendship. The consequences were severe for him: he was sued and kicked out of the band. He couldn't even use the money they had earned. And to top it all off, he would never be hired by another band.

Jedd will continue making music to help the band grow, but he won't be able to forget this painful experience; he lost his friend. Sometimes people are blinded by their failures and commit acts that only lead to more failures. From now on, Jedd will be more careful with his work; backstabbing can come from anywhere.
