It's no news that I love food, I over classify as a foodie. I have tons of food videos on my phone, I watch YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook even TikTok just so I can see different kinds of food. I like to sit and pretend that I'm eating alongside them. The only downside to my food addiction is that I'm a horrible cook. Well not horrible, just that I hardly doubt anybody that eats my food would make it to the next day.
But it doesn't mean I can't enjoy something just because I can't do it myself right? I've gotten quite good at making beans though. I had the whole of this break to perfect my skills of beans making and I'll probably open an only beans themed restaurant someday. It's going to be awesome, beans and tea, beans and bread, beans and egg, beans and everything.
When with my love for food, I still can't figure out why I'm not fat. I think most of the food goes into my personality because I cant find it anywhere else. I eat and eat and eat but I still can't get fat. What annoys me is David, my friend. He doesn't make an attempt to be fat, he doesn't even eat the kind of things I do but he still gets fat. I'm here putting in all the efforts and no result but he's just there, not even trying. He can probably get fat from just drinking water. I know I'm probably going to be fat one day, my body is just waiting for the perfect time. But to be very honest, I don't know why I want to get fat. I keep lying to myself that it's because I want to hit the gym so I can convert everything to muscle but I know my lazy ass. Once I start getting fat, working out wouldn't seem to work out again.
Still on the issue of food, I don't usually try to cook but when I do, it still comes out as rubbish. I tried making yam porridge for the very first time a while ago. Let's just say there was yam but no porridge. I was following one tutorial on YouTube. Everything was going so well, getting all the ingredients, cutting the yam, getting the pot. I think everything went sideways as soon as I put on the gas. There was a time the lady in the video said, " if you followed all the steps correctly, your yam porridge should look something like this" and then she opened the pot to show it's content. I opened mine too, it was so different. Yam was on one side, water was on the other and I was having people over later that day. I had to call them to tell them to eat from their houses before they come because I didn't have food in the house. As for the yam and water, I didn't throw it away, I ate it in shame. The appearance might not have been good but my God the taste, the taste was even worse.
My parents taught me never to waste food. I hid the food when they came and told them not to go anywhere near my kitchen. I'll just ask them to come and cook if they're hungry. They say what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, well the "yam porridge" definitely didn't kill me, but it didn't make me stronger either. I'm going to get better at cooking, maybe not today, or the next or even in a year, but someday, I'm going to be an excellent chef and if that doesn't work out, I can always be an assassin who kills people with bad food.
