Recently I encountered a lot of fledglings. Magpies, starlings, great tits, their babies left the nests and their voices are heard loud and clear as they continue to ask their parents to feed them.
Look at this little starling with its beak wide open and waiting rather impatiently the parents to put the meal in this ever hungry throat.
The fledgling was hopping on the branches, then on the grass following the mommy or daddy. It was funny, little bird chasing its parents and demanding very loud to be fed. The grass was high, no clear shot of that scene, I am afraid. So, here is another one, looked so grumpy.
Previous day, another nest, the starling is still tucked in the nest, soon to be out.
And from another day - busy parent with fresh catch. It is good to be able to bring a whole lot.
One day at lunch time I went around the office with my camera. Near the fence an old rusty pole, cut and left with the wires hanging out draw my attention. Squeaky sound from inside and frenzy great tit on top branch of the tree, this must be a nest. Not the first time I see great tits using metal poles for their nests.
Poor mommy, how many rounds she must take. Unlike the straling, her beak is small and she can carry one bug only.
And off she went to hunt.
I hoped to see today how the mommy was doing, but it was pouring down and if tomorrow the weather is more favourable, I will have a look.
And that's all for now. Till next time and happy birding!
