It is the midsummer and the temperatures are above 30°C, some places reach 40°C. The heat make the birds to search for water and it is great if we can help by putting birdbaths in our gardens. In our small park the fountain where the water is running is broken. However, even if it is half broken and very ugly, still functioning and always visited by the birds. The seagull is just standing and the water gently sprinkle on the the chest. There were bunch of jackdaws on the ground together with sparrows drinking from the puddle formed around the fountain.
The seagull looked around and flapped the wings and jumped on the ground. I wasn't fast enough and the whole bird did not fit in frame in the next image.
But then I've got these two shots that I like more, especially the second one, such a bizarre pose. 🙂
And then the bird walked away with dignity, casting its shadow.
Another day., another seagull. This time a fledgling. Look how different the plumage is compared to the adult. I found it near the house on which roof I have observed the young seagulls. I suspect it is the same bird. The grass turned yellow as we have no rain for quite some time. Few days ago it did rain, but hardly make any difference, the grass is like burned and everything is dry.
And that's all for now. I am looking forward to the weekend, although the forecast is for more hot days and I am not willing to stay outside much longer. But wait and see if I will come up with new pics.
Happy birding!
