Hello needleworkers and supporters! Welcome to @needleworkmonday鈥檚 Featured Posts #12! This is a weekly Curation showcasing the needlework of our very own Steemians! Every Monday we get together to share our love and passion for the needle arts using the #needleworkmonday tag. We enjoy each other鈥檚 creations, ideas, patterns, tips and shortcuts.
We strive to bring to you great quality work filled with tutorials and inspiration. Please help us keep these wonderful needle arts alive and thriving by supporting our work and community.
Here is today鈥檚 curation...
Isn鈥檛 this the cutest little elephant? @barracudadiaries wanted to make something special for her mother鈥檚 birthday. She found the image, drew it freehand, then transformed it into a quick embroidery project. Come and see what she decided to make this little cutie into!
Need a laptop case? @frejafri did so she made her own. She took old blankets and tablecloths and stitched them together by hand with needle and thread. She didn鈥檛 have a particular plan but was sewing by imagination and it became this beautiful case. This inspired me to just do it! Pick up some fabric, a needle and thread and let your imagination run wild.
If you eat candy you might want to start saving those wrappers! @dizzyapple recycled candy wrappers to make these adorable pillows for her two little men鈥檚 daycare project using plastic, thread and needle. She includes the easy and simple steps it takes for you to make your very own. What a fun and cute project to do with your kids, make as a gift or use as a decorative piece!
Here鈥檚 another great idea of how to make use of that old pair of jeans you have lying around. @odalysrivero shows us how to make this gorgeous braided bag out of them. She shares with us a step by step tutorial of the process and how to add these cute felt embellishments at the end. What a great way to top it off and add some extra charm!
@romeskie has been working on her daughter鈥檚 halloween costume for almost three weeks and is finally done! She had to improvise as the fabric store did not have the hard tulle she needed. She hit the jackpot in the mall when she found a store that sold fabric scraps. They had exactly the colors she needed to finish the costume. With the help of her husband she was able to pull off a beautiful Moana dress. She includes a link to her previous post showing how she started the crocheting process. What an awesome way to combine two needle techniques!
