Last year I had a prayer I said every night.
"God, change my situation."
"God, remove this problem."
"God, make it easier."
I said it for 6 months straight.
Then nothing changed.
That’s when I realized: I was asking God to change my circumstance" but I never asked Him to change "me".
"Matthew 8:23-27" hit me different that day. Jesus didn’t stop the storm immediately. He was in the boat with the disciples while the storm was raging.
I stopped praying "God take this away".
I started praying "God, teach me while I’m in this".
Funny thing happened. The storm didn’t end fast. But my fear did.
Sometimes we’re so busy asking God to remove the test, we miss the lesson inside it.
