Trials should be faced with an attitude of joy. When troubles come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. You are not instructed to rejoice for the trial but in the trial. .
My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
Trials come to everyone but your response will greatly influence the outcome. These trials will show that your faith is genuine. When your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honour on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world (1Peter. 1:7).
Abraham handled his challenges with the right attitude. He was steadfast; he honoured God in spite of the delay. He believed and hoped even when there was no reason to do so. His faith did not weaken by reason of contrary physical evidence. Abraham never wavered in believing God's promise. In fact, his faith grew stronger, and in this he brought glory to God (Roman.4: 20).. Your unwavering faith in God in the face of threatening opposition will bring glory to God. Abraham's faith was again tested when God asked him to sacrifice his beloved son Isaac. He obeyed and passed the test and God said to him: “now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me” (Genesis. 22:12). God wants you to endure trials when they come; be steadfast. Let your hope keeps you joyful, be patient in your troubles, and pray all times (Roman.12:12). Let your faith remain strong through trials. Do not lose your courage.... Don't give the Devil a chance (Hebrew 10: 35). God blessed Job at the end of his trial; he was steadfast.
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
For by it the elders obtained a good report.
Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.
By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Anyone who wants to please God must have faith and live by it; “for the just shall live by faith” (Romans 1:17). One must believe that God exists and that He rewards those who diligently seek Him. Whatever is good, desirable, beneficial and perfect COmes down to us from God. Be confident in Him; trust in His power, wisdom. He gives strength to the weary and to him who lacks might He increases power. He can help in temptation, because He himself suffered and was tempted. God is all sufficient; He is a very present help in trouble.
It was faith that made Noah hear and heed God's warnings about a coming flood, something in the future that he could see. By his act of confidence, he and his family were saved but the world was condemned. Noah was made right with God through faith. Abraham the father of faith pleased God. Abraham believed God and God counted him as righteous because of his faith. He was even called the friend of God (James. 2:23). He believed God even when it looked ridiculous. He departed from the known to seek the unknown that God had spoken to him about. Thomas did not believe that Jesus arose until he saw and touched Him. Jesus said: “You believe because you see me. Those who believe without seeing me will be truly blessed" (John. 20:29). Better blessings are in store for you when you have faith in God. To have faith is to be sure of the things we hope for, to be certain of the things we cannot see (Hebrew. 11:1). Have faith in God.
