Ikigai is a concept of Japanese origin that means "the reason to live" refers to the realization of what is expected and desired, it is said that the longevity of the Japanese goes hand in hand with this lifestyle.
This theme has begun to spin in my head, since the day a great friend asked me WHAT IS YOUR IKIGAI ?.
He told me: our brain is powerful but at the same time it is naive, it believes everything you tell it and counts, it does not discriminate between messages of double meaning and reality, everything you project your mind processes it, the brain receives continuous sensory information , he quickly analyzes these data and then responds, controlling the bodily actions and functions therefore it is necessary to send him positive and optimistic messages so that our mind focuses on achieving beneficial objectives; for what you can observe ikigai, it is not something supernatural, extraordinary or inalterable, on the contrary it is extremely simple and practical.
That's why you wake up every morning and give you the impulse to get up on that path for personal, family and collective benefit.
By knowing your ikigai, you will take it as a vitamin, to face the vicissitudes, that come your way.
The oriental culture invites us to always be active, in them the denomination of retirees does not apply, as it happens with us, because who stops doing that work that he is passionate about and that fills his days his life begins to lack meaning; I mean by this that when the day comes that you fulfilled your years of service to a company, a ministry, an institute, an organization, a factory, you refuse to retire; For example, in my particular case, I worked for 30 uninterrupted years, work that I carried out with pride, many satisfactions, many acknowledgments, also disappointments, some inconveniences in the monetary aspect, but the time of the retreat arrived; That did not mean that I would lie down in my bed or sit in a chair, on the contrary, after having finished my professional work, I continue doing activities that I like and that also benefit others.
Something that I have always done is to thank God, for allowing me to be alive, I do every morning an exercise of greeting the new day and I try to give it the best possible use.
Meditate a little on what is that talent that you've probably left forgotten and pick it up again.
Do you know your ikigai?
