I decided to air this post for the benefit of “minnows”, likewise those that have not really get acquainted with the community. Though some things are better experienced than explained, but steps and guidelines would help avert most common mistakes.
Let’s look at the some of the challenges I had as a minnow:
Do this:
i.) Open a new tab on your browser URL and type www.postimg.org
ii.) When the page opens, scroll down a little and click on choose images.
This will redirect to your computer or phone image folders, select your favourite photo and apply. Wait just a little for the imaghelpee to complete 100% upload. A dialogue box opens immediately your photo successfully uploads. Then copy the link on “Direct Link”
iii.) Go back to your steemit page and tap the icon provided to picture upload. Go to setting and paste the link on the space “PROFILE PICTURE URL”. The deed is done. Do same for your cover page.
Guidelines for using tags:
*Use tag that best describes your post
*You can add upto five tags in a post
*Use all l owercase
*Use spacing to separate tags (e.g Animal Steemit Cryptocurrency)
*The first tag is your main class.
Curative Content: This means making contents that implies, rich, educating and original. For your content to gain upvote, it has to be informative, original and at its best.
Bot: Initially, I didn’t understand what it means. Bot, also called webrobot is an automated software app. This application has power to give you vote if activated. There are so many of them running on steemit. Please find out more on bots.
Plagiarism: This means lifting, coping and stealing another person’s write-up. It is forbidden in steemit. Punishment awaits offender.
Getting follower: This became one of my hardest riddle as minnow. As a minnow, you are adviced to upvote people. Use steemit chat to get new friends, join steemit facebook group, instagram/twitter etc. Posting quality and curative contents will also help. Find more ways …
