This makes me very angry. I used to be made to work very long hours in my previous job. I tried to fight it by going to the union, but they were useless. It's a long story really. I was eventually made redundant, and I have refused to work for that kind of corporate employer ever since. I do either freelance work or casual work. I don't have as much money, but I'm much happier. I'm sorry that your wife is in this situation. I hope she finds something better.
