We all have different paths to take in this journey called life and we shouldn't have a tunnel vision to life, yes academia could be a gateway to success however if we happen to have our strengths in other areas we shouldn't fret that we ain't necessarily brilliant because our success may come from else where and it may perhaps be even better than the academicians.
