It is another beautiful day, another blissful week, we are in the rainy season and it's always cold at night but I am very much excited about our activities for the week in the Ghanaian community and I can't wait to share my thoughts on the topics.

I love reading, I love reading a lot, I quite remember way back in high school my colleagues used to call me a bookworm, and it wasn't necessarily because I liked reading my science books or my physics books but I was a fan of novels, I was almost always reading a new novel every week and you would find me in the library on my free time reading, even in the dining hall, I would be reading whiles awaiting the food because I couldn't hold with the suspense.

Along these lines I came across Rick Riordan, he is a prolific writer and an amazing individual who explores mythical words with such detail, I love how he improved my knowledge and understanding about the Greek world, the Egyptian world, the Norse gods, etc. You just can't help but love him for his work and as it stands now I am so eager to see the Percy Jackson sequel come to life in the Netflix original series that's cooking up and the best part is, Rick Riordan himself is part of this production so you can imagine how good it's gonna be.

The Percy Jackson Series

  • Percy and the Olympians

So as a fan of Rick I have read almost all his books, I think what I am yet to get my hands on is The Sun and the Star which was released recently but I would definitely get a copy. Anyway, so Percy and the Olympians explore a world where Percy discovers his demi-god nature and makes new friends, getting to know Annabeth who is the daughter of Athena, the goddess of knowledge and wisdom.

In their journey and their quest, they battle minions, evil forces that seek to vanquish them and you get to learn a whole lot about abrosia, the god's liquor and camp half blood where demigods find solace and thrive, improving their skills and finding themselves and their godfathers who sometimes are yet to claim them and so they do not know which bunkers to base in.

The Olympian series comes in five books namely; the lightning thief, the sea of monsters, The Titan's Curse, the battle of labyrinth, and the last olympian. Following teenagers explore their teenage years full of hormones, falling in love, and battling evil is definitely a book that you would want to read. It is captivating and thrilling and the suspense never ends, the beautiful thing about the series is that they are all linked in one way, and while each book tells its own story focusing on different demigods and their powers, no one is left behind.

  • The Kane Chronicles

Right after the Olympians series, the next thing you would want to do is follow up on the Kane Chronicles. In this sequel, you are taken away from the Greek gods to the Egyptian gods and once again we get thrown into the world of teenagers discovering their ancestry and discovering their powers for the first time. The world of the Egyptian gods is similar to the Greek gods in ways that you never imagined.

And Rick explored this world in such detail you appreciate things much better, you get to fall in love with some of these gods even and some things come into perspective for you if you are already a fan of the mythical world. Perhaps you have heard of a few gods in Egypt and you wish to know more, this is the best place to learn.

The sequel also comes in 3 books much like that of the Olympian series and once again each book can be read alone and yet it's even better when followed through together, everything is intertwined and if you do not love this book then I don't know which books you would want to read. It has everything that makes reading captivating and Rick is so good with words that you learn a whole lot especially if you wish to improve your lexicon.

  • The Heroes of Olympus

This is the last one I would be talking about, note that this is not the last book he wrote though, or the last of his sequel i'm enthralled with however I cannot go on and on about all his books, you may eventually get fed up with me, but here is what I can recommend if you read any of these books, then I can assure you that you would want to read more and would probably end up finishing every single book he has written much like myself.

The Heroes of Olympus is a big one, is like the grand finale of the Percy sequel, it revolves around a large prophecy much like all his books where a quest is thrown to these demi-gods to want to make a change and prevent a major setback from occurring. This battle happens to be between gods and demi-gods, just imagine, fathers and mothers against kids, the irony of the matter is that the kids now have to save their parents whiles their parents sit and watch without interfering.

The kids having their parent's destinies in their hands is a whole different vibe and yes once again you get to meet new characters from different gods who have amazing powers, the amazing thing about Rick is that his descriptions are so vivid you can imagine every scene throughout.

Conclusion

I am sure you may conclude that I am not really writing about my favorite book or books but my favorite author's books? Whichever the case I do hope that you give these ones a try and do let me know if you do and whether you loved them or they weren't up to your taste, I would also love to hear your recommendations if you are into these kinda stories and if you have any reading suggestions for me.
