I hope we are all doing amazing and having a wonderful time. By now we have explored Hive.vote a lot and are more familiar with its interface and the many options or things that can be done there. Because of my trip last week, we had to pause but now we can continue.
I would like to disclaim though, that what i am sharing with us all is my understanding of how things work and what i may have learned from my mentors since my time on the blockchain that i felt i could also share with our community members and so do correct me if i am wrong or perhaps if you would like to add up at any point in time you are very much welcome and thank you too.
Curation trails
I do not know if you have heard of this adage before, "Together we stand, United we fall"? But i believe that is the basic principle governing curation trails. If not for anything i can assume that the creators of this idea on the blockchain were looking for ways to maximize our efforts as individuals, putting everyone's work together to make things work for all of us. The strong supports the weak till they are stronger and they also help those now coming up.
Much like how the tower of Babylon was being built until the segregation of mankind. Anyway, let's get back on track, so curation trail works by we lending our hive power to a particular account on the blockchain, now all individuals that follows this particular trail that may have been created by one individual adds their power to their power making it more powerful than if it were to be alone, enabling them to give more support to other accounts.
Unlike delegation though, your power is still yours fully and you get all the benefits of having a particular hive power on the blockchain like curation rewards, credits etc. And so the more people follow a particular trail, the more powerful the trail gets however as you may have come to understand the hive power of the followers would have a more significant impact as compared to the numbers.
@nattybongoWhat this means is that, should a trail have say 1000 followers with each having 100HP the total power that the trail would be voting with would be 100,000HP and yet a trail could have say 500 HP with each follower having say 1000HP and they would have more power or give out more support as compared to the 1000 followers because they would be voting with an equivalent power of 500,000HP.
And so with this idea minnows or dolphins or whales etc are able to come together to give support to a particular group or a community on the blockchain or perhaps even support a project. I believe curation trails are beautiful designs which could go a long way to making the blockchain an amazing place and for the major stakeholders who are doing amazing with, we say kudos for your great works.
Now anyone of us can create a trail, that would be looked at in our next lesson, however getting followers is another thing because you would have to be credible, the purpose of the curation trail must be well understood and you should prove you can handle what's its been lent to you.

We would learn more in the days ahead, until then since we know How to Search for Curation trails now we could read about their descriptions, perhaps follow and see how things go for us. Don't forget to check your manna so it doesn't drain completely.
