Most of us would testify to the fact that according what we have read and understood in the bible the ark is of so much importance to the isrealites so much so that they would basically protect it with their lives, not as if anyone who is not deem worthy by God can even go close or carry it though, the ark ensured and guaranteed the safety of God's people. Now with all the power associated with the ark when David was illegally dethroned and he had the opportunity to move with the ark to ensure his own safety he didn't, why? Because he knew his people come first, he knew his responsibility to the people as King came first, he understood that the love for his country comes first.
Now what i would ask you is that what comes first in you life as a Christians, what would you sacrifice for to ensure you gain or have what you want? What would you do anything in your power to achieve or gain? As Christians our first love is and should be Christ, we are to love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul and mind and to love our neighbor as ourselves. Most of us tend to forget these commandments and as such we tend to forget our first love, causing us to live life based on our own wisdom and understanding. What we should know is that this is our ark, which is signifying our covenant with God as Christ came to die for us. He says if you love me keep my commandments, if we should keep his commandments he will ensure our safety and security in life just as he did with the Israelites. Remember thy first love.
