I've heard a little about Gangsta, but not much more; it sounds interesting. It's a shame it was cancelled. I agree with everything you say; the same audience that complains about it being generic isn't helping either.

And yes, Re:Zero also has its romance pretty deeply rooted there, especially in its first two seasons. The reasons why many of us loved Rem are quite well explained and demonstrated in the anime, the same goes for Emilia and why Subaru chooses her. Or rather, he doesn't choose her as such, but rather falls in love with her first; it's a complex theme that is very well presented from the first chapter.

I know you're going to love it when you see it, and by the time you get to episode 8 (if I'm not mistaken) of the first season, it will be undeniable.
