I'm studying color theory. For some reason, I paid special attention to this topic only when I started studying watercolors. I don't recall that masters of oil painting or acrylics mentioned this with the same frequency as masters of watercolors. So far, I have a vivid sense of magic from the material. And to be honest, I do not understand how this theory and a dry understanding of combinations will be useful for writing portraits.
And it looks like a new world is opening up for me. Mix paint to get light and shadow, I did not do for a very long time. I recently used ready-made flowers when necessary. Which were mixed by the paint manufacturer. And when I drew (tried to draw) portraits with watercolors, I used ready-made shades of beige watercolors. Frankly, the paint looked like a mask.
And I dream of learning how to draw watercolors airily. So that each layer is transparent. Like colored pieces of glass that are stacked on top of each other.
And in order to make the glass pieces superimposed on each other remain expressive, I want to study the interaction of colors with each other.
