My dream is to learn how to draw portraits in watercolors. Moreover, the technique-spots. When the layers and borders of the superimposed colors are visible in the picture. In my practice, I came to the conclusion that I do not have enough skill in watercolors. And courage) And nothing else can change that except practice. I started small. I explore palette. Properties of paints when mixing.
The task was as follows: from the main colors (yellow, red, blue) to get gray. I tried several shades of each color to mix with each other. Ideally, the gray color should not be guessed blue, or green. To be honest, I still haven't fully imbued myself with this mixing skill.
Then, I tried to mix colors similar to body shades. Get the colder, then more pink, then more orange shades.
For some reason, I used to think it was a waste of time. Doing this exercise took me 1.5 hours. But I feel that this is a very good investment in the freedom of my creativity.
PS Despite the fact that I studied for 5 years in art school, I took watercolors for the first time 4 years ago. I still can't get close to her. Graphic materials and oil are closer and clearer to me.
