For this past Friday at my daughter Dariana's school, a series of activities had been planned, but they weren't notified much in advance. Especially because things end up happening that are sometimes unplanned, in the sense that our children will be left in a good place both emotionally and in their school activities.

The fact is, the teacher notified us via the WhatsApp group on Thursday night that the girls should have their hair styled with a donut. The last time my daughter had a hairstyle like that, it was for a school project presentation in 3rd grade, and I took her to a hair salon, which means everything was planned in advance. I don't blame the teacher, because the school principal informs the teachers a lot of things at the last minute, and therefore the representatives are notified late.

In order for my daughter to be able to attend her presentation at school 🎒, I had to figure out how to make the damn donut myself. The truth is, I wasn't sure if it would look good on her because my daughter doesn't have much hair, and she also has super fine hair.

To find out how to make the donut that I would place inside her hair, I watched several tutorials, so I immediately grabbed a pair of stockings that were usable, hehe, but they were the only black ones I had, and I needed them to make the base of the donut.

The donut made with the stockings would give her the necessary volume, in this case for her fine hair. On Friday morning, I woke her up earlier than usual to do her hair. My daughter laughed, saying, "I knew how to do that," but it turns out Mom always fixes it, so I got to work.

I didn't add any gel or hairspray to her hair, nor did I wet it. I tried to keep it as natural as possible so that it could be easily removed afterward. Besides, my daughter doesn't like hairstyles because it gives her a headache, so she always wore bows that I made herself. I used hair clips to hold her hair, ponytails, everything necessary to keep the donut from getting deformed during the activity.

In the end, I added a little glittery hairspray, and it turned out great for me to do it myself, hehe. They had to attend in their school uniforms and with their hair styled with a donut.

This experience is just one of many we'll have together. However, my daughter realized that I'd do anything for her, because after the activity, she told me that several girls didn't attend because their mothers didn't know how to put donuts in their hair.

I'm so happy to be able to solve these little things, which I know my daughter appreciates. Plus, she looked super cute and enormous. There will surely be times when I can't solve them directly, but I'll always be there to find solutions; that's what moms do.

Para éste viernes pasado en la escuela donde estudia mi hija Dariana, se habían planificado una serie de actividades que sin mucha anticipación fueron notificadas. En especial porque se terminan haciendo cosas que a veces no se tienen previsto, en el sentido de que nuestros hijos queden bien parados tanto a nivel emocional, como de sus actividades escolares.

El caso es, que la maestra nos avisó por el grupo de WhatsApp en la noche del jueves, que debían ir peinadas las niñas, con una dona en el cabello. La última vez que me hija se hizo un peinado así, fue para la presentación de un proyecto escolar en 3 er grado, y la lleve a una peluquería, quiere decir que todo fue con anticipación. No culpo a la maestra, porque el directivo de la escuela informa muchas cosas a última hora a los docentes, y por ende se notifican a los representantes tarde.

En vista de que mi hija pudiera cumplir en su presentación en la escuela 🎒, me las tuve que arreglar, para hacerle por mi cuenta la fulana dona, la verdad es que no estaba segura si le quedaría bien porque mi hija no es de mucho cabello, además lo tiene súper fino.

Para saber cómo hacer la dona que le colocaría dentro del cabello ví varios tutoriales, así que inmediatamente agarre un par de medias que si tenían uso, Jejeje, pero eran las únicas negras que tenía y las necesitaba para hacer la base de la dona.

La dona hecha con las medias le daría el volúmen necesario, en éste caso por su fino cabello. La mañana del viernes la desperté más temprano de lo normal para hacerle el peinado. Mi hija se reía diciendo que si yo sabía hacer eso, pero resulta que mamá siempre resuelve, así que me puse manos a la obra.

No le agregué gelatina o fijador en el cabello, ni lo mojé, trate de hacerlo lo más natural posible, para que se lo pudiese quitar fácilmente después, además de que a mí hija no le gustan los peinados, porque le duele la cabeza, por ésta razón siempre llevaba lazos que yo misma le hacía. Utilicé unos ganchillos para sujetar el cabello, colitas, en fin, todo lo que hiciera falta para que la dona no se deformara durante la actividad.

Al final le coloque un poco de gelatina fijadora con brillos, y le quedó super bien para hacerlo yo, Jejeje. Ellas debían asistir con su uniforme escolar, y peinadas con su dona.

Está experiencia no deja de ser una más de las tantas que viviremos juntas, sin embargo mi hija se dió cuenta que hago lo que sea por ella, porque después de la actividad, me contó que varias niñas no asistieron porque sus mamás no supieron hacer las donas en su cabello.

Me alegra mucho poder resolver éstas pequeñas cosas, que se que mi hija aprecia, además se veía súper linda y enorme. Seguramente habrá momentos en los que no pueda resolver directamente, sin embargo siempre estaré para buscar soluciones, eso hacemos las mamás.
