Don't you think that attempting to regulate prices is cheating the consumer? Surely it should be a free market for producers to set whatever price they choose to. Such price fixing as you suggest is illegal in many countries. I understand the difficulties for small-scale farmers but like all businesses, they should have to compete freely and fairly.
