Today in school
Have you ever dremt of something great and you wish you could do any thing just to achieve it?
Hmmmmmm.... After putting in much late hours in the recording studio last night trying to make a hit track, and nothing good seems to come.
The lyrics is wack, the beats are horrible, and the keys are totally off. Now my faith is dead and my hope is lost.
And so I woke up and came to school looking so frustrated. It was quite obvious that even my kids (pupils) were able to detect that something is really troubling me deep on the inside.
Having seen my facial expressions, these adorable and smart kids decided to approach me, and they interrogated......
JIMOLO: "Uncle, how comes you are not smiling now like you always do?
Wisdom (3 years old): " yes Uncle, you are not smiling any more. I remember the way you smiled yesterday when my Mumm came to pick me up".
Emmanuela (3 years old): " or you didn't had breakfast before coming and you are feeling so hungry now? I have some food in my lunch box. Come on Uncle. Take it.".
Hahaha.... I just sat down quietly looking at them and wondering.... But this is what I said " hey babies. I appreciate your love and concern.... But Uncle is doing fine ok. Nothing is wrong ".
But they insisted "uncle we can Tell that something is wrong with you. Or, are you sick?". I even lifted them up just to make them feel I am OK. They said "yes we know you are healthy and strong. But"
JIMOLO: " if you won't tell us, we will not play with you again Uncle ".
Emmanuela: " if you won't tell us, I will not eat my food. I Will even go now and throw it in the refuse bin".
And I said "no no no... Come on! You don't have to do all that OK. Fine. I will tell you. I spend much time last night trying to do a song but it couldn't. I just got everything wrong and now I feel I can't do it".
And this is what Emmanuela said " uncle! "
I replied "yes"
Emmanuela "do you think we are brilliant?"
I replied "yes"
Emmanuela "do you think we are smart, and can be successful in everything we do?"
I replied "yes"
Emmanuela "do you think we can make our parents proud?"
Again I replied "yes sweetheart"
Then she said "how much more of you who teaches and coaches us? Remember what you always tell us, I know I can be what I want to be. I just need to work hard in it... Uncle just push on harder. You can do it".
My breath ceased for a while and tears dripped down my eyes....

listen to the voice of that kid... He may have the answer to that problem you are facing. Never under estimate the mind of a child......
