I found my first herp on the job today! It's been a long time coming, but it was an adorable Anaxyrus woodhousii, or Woodhouse's Toad.
I found it hopping along the beach of the Missouri River just north of North Dakota's capital, Bismarck.
Hopefully I'll find many more in the months to come!!
