The are trying to make it all digital. That's why their is an up tick in retro gaming. Analogue is planing to release a console that plays Nintendo64 games in Q1 2025. Fans of the system still make games for it. I think mainstream will be digital because they make it that way by default but there will always be a portion that will look towards physical copy or file that they own and I don't think that will change.
