I happened to be on the Red Sea, when almost all flights were stopped. I got to Sinai on one of the last flights. The rest of the tourists gradually left the peninsula. With each day, divers became less and less. And soon I began to dive in proud solitude.
Thanks to this, I was lucky to see how life at sea changes when people stop interfering in his life. After the disappearance of tourists, fishermen also stopped mass fishing. As a result, the Sea began to revive. Fish on the reefs stopped all day hiding in the depths of corals, but actively moved and hunted.
It is about this amazing action and this series is dedicated. Large coral
covered with a big flock of glass-fish. I was there when several species of fish began hunting for the whole flock. Flutes, jackfish, lionfish and so on.
Hunting all together and separately, and on one-night. And this action does not cease for a minute. All half an hour we were there could not afford to stay. It was not close relative to the entry point. We left the Blue Hall and sailed a few hundred meters to the side, along the reef. And the depth was not the smallest 20 meters.
The photographs themselves do not pass the whole process well. Conditions were not a fluke. Great dynamic range. Very dark coral and shiny and silvery fish. But the dynamics here seems to me to outweigh the technical flaws.
At the same time, we must admit that the technique worked well. The percentage of misses with such a dynamic survey is very small. And given that this is not a fish and 28mm, it's very noticeable.
By the way flutes are excellent hunters. This is only at first glance, they are slow and not pivotal (although we must recognize the reversal they really unhurried). But the cast is very rapid. The brain does not have time to make a frame. It's just a pure instinct. "something blink" = "click")
When I swam away, a very small part of the large flock of fish remained. The rest became the prey of hunters.
