It's incredible how you managed to create so much tension in this chapter, just with Evan's thoughts, fears, and reflections. I liked the last part, when we are no longer just a profession and become part of a whole for the good of the universe. I think this is fundamental to any battle (physical or spiritual). The idea of “eliminating” ourselves as a species and uploading certain “consciousnesses” into an AI is a plan that does not seem far-fetched or improbable to me. Hugs, my friend.
