I was reading these days that the World Bank said that the pandemic will cause the greatest global economic crisis since at least 1870 and that rising levels of poverty around the world are a fact. However, I believe that many countries (among those Venezuela, for example, and other Latin countries) that were already heading for the abyss in the economy, have used the Covid to justify the financial meltdown. While it is true that the economy has suffered a major blow since March and has been in intensive care, there have been inefficient and inept governments unable to bring their countries' economies into safe harbor. The great irony: China is among the few countries, according to this report, that will have growth in its economy. What can I say? A beautiful night, tarazkp@tarazkp
