Curiosity: Desirous of learning or knowing
Hope: The belief that one's desires maybe attained.
If we are not curious if we should take the next step, if the next job is good for us, if we should buy a new house, pursue our education, if that guy over there is Mr. Right, do we have a baby, if something is worth trying again for....
My interpretation:
If you had no hope you would not be curious if these things are possible. Without curiosity if these things are possible there would be no hope.
