At the grocery store where I frequently shop, I sometimes encounter female cashiers who have very long fingernails. Their nails may be naturally long like that, but my guess is that they are most likely fake and were professionally attached to them. The problem I have with their nails is that I feel that they could be a health threat to customers because when they are handing people their change and receipts back, they could accidentally scratch or poke their skin and leave them with open sores. This could be extremely hazardous for customers who may be diabetic.
I don't know why the managers at some of these stores allow their employees to have nails that long. I understand that these cashiers may think that those nails are cute, but they probably won't be thinking that if a customer ends up suing them and the whole store if they get poked or scratched by one of them.
