You're completely right. It was as I was going through a weird panic disorder that sprung up after a year of stress. I could barely go to the shop, let alone really go anywhere. I was mostly stuck inside during the height of summer and as I was slowly getting better I felt that itch to get out and explore again, but I still couldn't. Instead I'd spend time just going to different floors in the buildings and observing from balconies. Total boredom!
