A lot of Hive marketing posters and materials have always been share and earn but some people sort of disagree with that approach.
Especially when that brings people in with the assumption that they'll always be making money. And when they then post something and make a dollar after being sold the idea that every post can make money beyond pocket change, they just up and leave. One new person onboarded and one new person immediately exiting.
You mentioned it briefly here and we even talked about it the other day: what onboarded people are told to post about can easily reflect their general experience and time spent on Hive as a result. If they're told to "just post about anything" without direction then they'll be lost and come here only to throw out what most others with experience would consider spam. Random pictures of a tree with no words, low quality food picture, or the opposite of a wall of text on the health benefits of eating mint that truly nobody here cares to read. And again that just results in those people leaving.
Hive has probably spent way too much money and time supporting onboarders that seemed good at the time but probably didn't actually do much good for the platform because they lacked the experience to actually teach.
