A few years ago I used to deal with some pretty harsh insomnia that would keep me up all night and forever sleeping in the day; maintaining a decent sleeping schedule just seemed impossible. During the brief days where a more normal sleep schedule was starting to slowly unfold, I'd find myself waking up in the very, very early hours of the morning.
Sometimes when this would happen, I would surprise Myah with a morning walk, very early for the both of us before the sun would begin to rise. We would walk out into the countryside together and find a spot and watch as the sun came up, even if that day was raining, we'd still do it. On this particular morning we roamed out by a river in the countryside, though the river's banks had burst and flooded the nearby fields.
Me and Myah walked through the cold and the flooded fields like it was nothing. Neither of us cared for the wet and the mud. In fact, Myah loved it. I recall having to keep her very close to me because her playful nature had her insisting that she went deeper into the mud and water to splash around. She had this very curious nature to her that often got her into scenarios she didn't anticipate.
While we didn't get to see a beautiful sunrise, the two of us did walk from dark until morning, only to return home and both fall asleep. I'll never forget this morning, and I'm really glad that I had Myah with me to share such moments with, encouraging me to get out at such crazy times to explore the world with her.
