La Vinotinto de Batista y Salomón Rondón, terminó líder del grupo B, al obtener 9 puntos en los tres encuentros disputados; tres victorias importantes que mostraron cierta dificultad por los rivales a enfrentar y más que nada por el poco funcionamiento que había presentado el equipo usando el esquema 4-2-3-1, pero que en este último encuentro por la primera fase, existía otra oportunidad más contra el rival más débil del grupo.
