A "different" summer ...
Traditionally, June never had a busy gaming schedule. Ιnstead all eyes were turned on E3. I don't think I need to explain the reasons, but 2020 definitely brought ups and downs on video games as well.
E3 canceled. Games are delayed. Even the most recent events have been postponed, like the presentation of PS5 which does not yet have a specific date.
Nevertheless, there are several notable gaming releases for June. Without a doubt, the game that will be discussed the most - and has already been discussed - this month is The Last of Us Part II. After the huge success of the first chapter on PlayStation 3, Naughty Dog is coming to tell the story of Ellie and Joel's adventure. Gamers will be able to experience the game on June 19 exclusively on PlayStation 4.
Valorant is already out of closed beta from June 2. It is one of those cases that does not need special recommendations, since the game has already managed to break the viewing record on Twitch. Regardless, if you don't know, this is a 5v5 character-based tactical FPS, which combines precision gunplay with unique abilities. It looks inspired by Overwatch and Counter Strike, but also brings new elements to the recipe.
In mid-June, two favorite remasters are expected. These are Command & Conquer Remastered Collection and SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated. In the first case we are dealing with the return of the adored strategy series, with 4K graphics, brand new multiplayer, improved UI and a completely remastered soundtrack.
On the other hand, we have SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom. The 'hydrated' version comes with new features such as a brand new multiplayer horde mode, while it will have content that was cut from the original game, remastered soundtrack and modern graphics, using Unreal Engine 4.
Another notable release is Disintegration. A first-person shooter combining real-time strategy elements. Responsible for its development is V1 Interactive by Marcus Lehto, who has created Master Chief, starring in the famous Halo series. Vehicles play an important role in the game, with each player having control of his own Gravcycle. Also the game has multiplayer, which can support up to ten players.
Finally, for Nintendo Switch owners we have DOOM Eternal, The Outer Worlds and Burnout Paradise Remastered, 3 games that stand out.
