Why do I feel like I've already seen this? - Review: Transformers: Rise of the Beasts | Reseña: Transformers: el despertar de las bestias | 2023 | [Eng/Esp]

Greetings dear members of the community, how are you today? I hope quite well. I had pending on my list to see the new Transformers movie, because since I was very small my parents bought me many of these toys and from there came a love for that whole world, plus I always found so interesting the way in which these acquired forms of vehicles mostly and then could transform into robots with these same characteristics, but well, I'm going for the branches, so let's go to the movie, today I want to talk about "Transformers: Rise of the Beasts".
The plots of Transformers movies are usually very similar to those of superhero movies since there is always a villain who wants to obtain a certain object that can give him the power to conquer or destroy planets and even universes, while the autobots who are the heroes try to stop them and get this object that has the ability to make Optimus and his companions can return home once and for all and in the process they have help from a human who discovers them by a mistake or by chance, but there is something in this one that left me a feeling of Déjà vu but we'll talk about it later in my opinion of the film.
The film begins by showing us how the villain of this movie called Unicron, a being considered a god that devours planets and his Predacons minions destroy the planet of the Maximals (descendants of the autobots but with the ability to transform into native animals of the earth) in search of a key that allows to open space-time portals and thus destroy all possible worlds, but the Maximals manage to escape the planet with the mission to hide the key.
Fast forward to 1994 and we meet our protagonist Noah, who is a former U.S. Army serviceman and an electronics genius who is having a hard time getting a job to help with his household expenses and his sick brother's treatment. When a job interview is canceled for not being good at working in a team, he decides to do a dirty job with an acquaintance to steal a car, Noah manages to sneak into the place where the car is which he has to steal, when he is inside it, we can see the insignia of Optimus Prime, thus knowing that he is part of the autobots. Just at that precise moment it is revealed that the key is on earth thanks to a light that emanates the same that humans can not see, but this alert the autobots and villains, so the countdown begins and the struggle to know who will get it.
Noah is trapped in this situation and ends up helping the autobots to find the key that is in a museum and is in the hands of another important character in the film named Elena, who has a lot of knowledge about past civilizations and their histories. Both end up being part of the team of Optimus Prime and his companions to obtain the key that if it falls into the hands of Unicron will end up destroying the planet earth and also the planet of the autobots. The rest of the movie is based on the fight between these two sides to get the key.
I want to start my opinion talking about the Déjà vu that the movie made me feel, although I found the story quite entertaining and kept me expectant of the things that were happening, I could not help but feel a sense that I was watching the first Transformers movie of 2007, I really consider that many events occurred in the same way as in the first film, the only thing that changed were the human characters and the villain on duty, of course, there are things that distinguish those of this movie with the 2007 one but roughly I have that feeling and I'm not saying it's bad, but I feel that it subtracted a little emotion to the movie, because in one way or another I felt I was watching something I had already seen in the first one, but it may be just an impression of mine.
Another thing that I didn't like very much and maybe it's a silly and more personal detail, but it was the transformation from vehicles to robots, I would say that in the first movies it was something more complex, there were more movements and I think the transition was much more attractive, instead in this new one the transition is very simple and loose, but as I mentioned, it's a pretty silly detail but I kept thinking about it every time they transformed, I understand that maybe the transformation process in the first ones was much more expensive than in the new movie, so I leave it more as a curious detail.
In the musical aspects I feel that they lacked some strength for certain scenes, on many occasions if you change the songs of the scenes you have different approaches to it and I think that to give more strength to the battle scenes, for example, perhaps another soundtrack would have been better, but still the one it has is not bad at all, I enjoyed it too.
In general aspects, although I have commented perhaps more negative points than positive, it does not detract at all the fact that I think it is a very good movie and is quite enjoyable like the previous ones, these certain details are more personal aspects more than anything, but as for others the movie I loved, the special effects, the characters, the personalities given to each robot seems to me quite accurate (this with the new ones included), the integration of the Maximals, because this opens many future projects of the Transformers universe, allowing the appearance of other variants and this really is a big plus for all of us who love the world of Transformers. It is a movie that I would recommend, but maybe not for everyone, because I understand that not everyone will find fascinating the story of robots that transform into vehicles and fight with others, but I would consider that for someone who saw it for the first time and perhaps does not know the story, it is a good approach.

Saludos queridos miembros de la comunidad, ¿Cómo se encuentran el día de hoy? Espero que bastante bien. Tenía pendiente en mi lista ver la nueva película de Transformers, ya que desde muy pequeño mis padres me compraban muchos juguetes de estos y de ahí surgió un amor por todo ese mundo, además que siempre me parecía tan interesante la manera en que estos adquirieran formas de vehículos en su mayoría y luego pudiesen transformarse en robots con estas mismas características, pero bueno, me estoy yendo por las ramas, por lo que vayamos a la película, hoy les quiero hablar de “Transformers: el despertar de las bestias”.
Las tramas de las películas de Transformers suelen ser muy similares a las de películas de superhéroes ya que siempre hay un villano que quiere obtener cierto objeto que le puede dar el poder de conquistar o destruir planetas e incluso universos, mientras los autobots que vienen siendo los héroes intentan detenerlos y hacerse con este objeto que tiene la capacidad de hacer que Optimus y sus compañeros puedan regresar a casa de una vez por todas y en el proceso tienen ayuda de algún humano que los descubre por un error o por casualidad, pero hay algo en esta que me dejo una sensación de Déjà vu pero lo hablaremos más adelante en mi opinión de la película.
La película empieza mostrándonos como el villano de esta película llamado Unicron, un ser considerado un dios que devora planetas y sus secuaces Predacons destruyen el planeta de los Maximals (descendientes de los autobots pero con capacidades de transformarse en animales nativos de la tierra) en busca de una llave que permite abrir portales de espacio-tiempo y así conseguir destruir todos los mundos posibles, pero los Maximals logran escapar del planeta con la misión de esconder la llave.
Avanzamos al año 1994 y conocemos a nuestro protagonista Noah, quien es un ex militar del ejercito de los estados unidos y un genio de la electrónica al cual se le dificulta conseguir un trabajo para ayudar con los gastos de su hogar y el tratamiento de su hermano enfermo. Cuando le cancelan una entrevista de trabajo por no ser bueno trabajando en equipo, decide hacer un trabajo sucio con un conocido de robar un auto, Noah logra escabullirse en el lugar donde se encuentra el auto el cual tiene que robar, cuando está dentro del mismo, podemos ver la insignia de Optimus Prime, sabiendo así que es parte de los autobots. Justo en ese preciso momento es revelado que la llave está en la tierra gracias a una luz que emana la misma que no pueden ver los humanos, pero esta alerta a los autobots y los villanos, por lo que empieza la cuenta regresiva y la lucha por saber quién la obtendrá.
Noah queda atrapado en esta situación y termina ayudando a los autobots a encontrar la llave que se encuentra en un museo y está en manos de otro personaje importante en la película llamada Elena, quien tiene mucho conocimiento sobre civilizaciones pasadas y sus historias. Ambos terminan siendo parte del equipo de Optimus Prime y sus compañeros para obtener la llave que si cae en las manos de Unicron terminará destruyendo el planeta tierra y también el planeta de los autobots. El resto de la película se basa en la lucha entre estos dos bandos por conseguir la llave.
Quiero empezar mi opinión hablando del Déjà vu que me hizo sentir la película, aunque la historia me pareció bastante entretenida y me mantuvo expectante de las cosas que estaban sucediendo, no pude dejar de sentir una sensación de que estaba viendo la primera película de Transformers del año 2007, realmente considero que muchos sucesos ocurrieron de la misma manera que en la primera película, lo único que cambió fueron los personajes humanos y el villano de turno, claro, hay cosas que distinguen a los de esta película con la del 2007 pero a grandes rasgos tengo esa sensación y no digo que esté mal, pero siento que le restó un poco de emoción a la película, porque de una manera u otra sentí que estaba viendo algo que ya había visto en la primera, pero puede ser sólo una impresión mía.
Otra cosa que no me gustó mucho y quizás sea un detalle tonto y más personal, pero fue la transformación de vehículos a robots, diría que en las primeras películas era algo más complejo, habían más movimientos y me parece que la transición era mucho más atrayente, en cambio en esta nueva la transición es muy simple y floja, pero como menciono, es un detalle bastante tonto pero del cual no dejaba de pensar también cada vez que se transformaban, igual entiendo que quizás el proceso de transformación en las primeras era mucho más costoso que este de la nueva película, así que lo dejo más como un detalle curioso.
En los aspectos musicales siento que les faltó algo de fuerza para ciertas escenas, en muchas ocasiones si cambias las canciones de las escenas tienes distintos enfoques de la misma y considero que para dar más fuerza a las escenas de las batallas, por ejemplo, quizás otro soundtrack hubiese quedado mejor, pero de igual forma el que tiene no está para nada mal, lo disfruté también.
En aspectos generales, aunque haya comentado quizás más puntos negativos que positivos, no quita para nada el hecho de que me parece una muy buena película y es bastante disfrutable al igual que las anteriores, estos ciertos detalles son más aspectos personales más que nada, pero en cuanto a otros la película me ha encantado, los efectos especiales, los personajes, las personalidades que le dan a cada robot me parece bastante acertada (esto con los nuevos incluidos), la integración de los Maximals, porque esto abre muchos proyectos a futuro del universo de Transformers, permitiendo la aparición de otras variantes y esto realmente es un gran punto a favor para todos aquellos que nos encanta el mundo de Transformers. Es una película que recomendaría, pero quizás no para cualquier persona, porque entiendo que no todos encontrarán fascinante la historia de unos robots que se transforman en vehículos y pelean con otros, pero consideraría que para alguien que lo viera por primera vez y desconoce quizás de la historia, es un buen acercamiento.
Hasta aquí mi reseña queridos amigos, muchas gracias por tomarse el tiempo de leerme, realmente espero que hayan disfrutado de mi opinión y que esta encendiera la chispa de querer verla si es que todavía no han tenido la oportunidad de hacerlo. ¡Feliz día!
