I have mentioned before about this that while I am not in town, I put my farm house on Airbnb. That's the way I can earn a little income out of it and also my home is maintained, else a closed home in a remote village can get in to a bad condition. With the renting, I can also remove the maintenance expenses and I can save the burden of this additional expense on me. I am able to come here once in 3 to 4 months, so rest of the time home remains empty. With short rentals everything keeps running.
Putting it up on Airbnb is not simple, there is continuous work around it. The property has to be maintained very well and always kept up -to - date. Apart from Airbnb, I get bookings from other agents also and when they sell my property to their clients, first thing they want is the pictures. Customers want to see recent pictures and not the old ones. I now complete 2 years in this business, and every year I have to provide all the agents new pictures of the property to show-case it to their clients.
Photo shoot is an expensive affair, so through the year I budget it out from the rental income so that it does not feel like a big burden when I have to do it. This year I wanted to do it after the start of the monsoon, when the land all around would become green, but the monsoon is delayed and I have to return back to Oman in the next 10 days so I had no choice but to get it done with whatever is there right now.
I have not yet received the photographer's pictures and videos but during the shoot I also clicked some pictures on my phone to see how the whole set up done by them looks. They used a lot of props for the shoot, I loved the way they did their job. Last year the person who did it, did not do a very good job, I was very disappointed but this one looks good. 100% I can only say when I receive the photographs.

I love the dining space set up
The outdoors, we put some coffee mugs and cookies to give a nice effect.
This was something I was not totally in agreement, but the photographer told me it was necessary to highlight the games, so I went ahead.
The shoot was completed in a day's time, it was exhausting for me but all worth it. I am so eagerly waiting for their photographs. In a week to 10 days time he has promised to deliver, so let's see.
