Hello, how are you?, I hope you are well. For this presentation I was quite hesitant to choose the theme. I wavered between the life deck and the death deck, but finally I decided to choose my preferred deck par excellence, the fire deck, since it has several cards that I would like to make my own interpretation of. This time I chose Cerberus; the watchdog. It's a card I quite like but it's not in the free rotation anymore and it's a bit expensive on the market so I haven't been able to add it to my personal collection.
Cerberus is a well-known dog in mythology, so I looked for some references. Usually "Cerberus" is remembered as a surly, imposing and aggressive dog in allusion to being the guardian of the underworld, a dog with a bad character and temperament. Based on that and basing myself on the "original letter" I made my own interpretation, giving it a slightly more friendly, animated touch, preserving its character. The result of my illustration was a cub
, a growing puppy, but just as temperamental, a small version of adult cerberus.
As the focus of cerberus has a lot to do with fire, I decided to give it an environment around the fire, unalterable in its presence, putting a little emphasis on the look, highlighting the color yellow, orange and red. I had him camouflage himself on stage a bit, originally I was going to camouflage him in some kind of cave, protecting his house, but then I hesitated and left it as it was.
For the process of its creation, it adopts a conventional and aggressive posture, giving an indication that if you get close, it will jump and pounce on you even though it is still growing.
I focused a lot on doing the hair strand by strand to give it a more elaborate look according to the time I had to do it, trying to give it a slightly different look than the "NFT", giving it a look similar to a small wolf, more than to a pitbull that seems to be the original letter. A wolf with whites and large menacing fangs.
The truth is that I quite like animals, so drawing my little wolverine entertained me quite a bit, although as I progressed in the drawing I shuffled several versions of the same character, some big and imposing, and some small and very friendly, so that's Probably later I will make other versions of the same letter, but much later. How do you think it turned out?, I hope you like it. If you like it, I would appreciate your vote. Thank you for your visit.
PD=The work was done in medibang pro as I usually do, with the help of a notebook and a mouse. I've been thinking about doing 3D renderings and animations a bit further down the road. Without further ado, I say goodbye, have a good week!
