I had no idea about this baseball player till now though well probably because I am not into the sports scene but something tells me that I think this relationship with them was actually fine. You mentioned the mom is the one who put a stop to it so more likely than not it was perfectly fine. that and there is no context behind the relationship from either his girilfriend or him yet but more often than not when these sorts of things abruptly end like that from outsiders getting involved it was most likely fine. and they stayed together for atleast a couple of years so it is obvious there was atleast something.
