A story of a now crypto enthusiast
It began over an amazing cup of coffee in the office.
Folgers to be exact. I think they usually use 52 scoops of coffee grounds. It AMAZING! I have been drinking it for ten years, it kinda grows on you. Anyway, went on a bit of a tangerine there.
So where was I, right, a conversation with a gent, going on about some imaginary money in computer land. Well, that is what I called it anyway. Bitcoin, it is pretty amazing technology he boasted.
Shortly after this, was followed by my investigation into the topic of crypto currency.
I started by looking into it and at first I was skeptical... to say the least. Which turned into enthusiasm..which turned into sadness, that I hadn't gotten in when the gent had in September or October. Once I was confident it was not a complete scam. And it was more than just rainbows and unicorns. Although I can quote my father in law saying, "It doesn't make sense!? People pay for nothing and make something!"
I then proceeded to sign up for any Canadian exchange I could. It can be a bit tough to find a good one in Canada, although you may not agree with that. Beginning with, nTrust, than Quadrigacx, than Kraken...I won't talk about my experience with Kraken..."I had a bad experience."
I then waited, as the market heated up and any of the crypto I thought I would buy began to double. Everyday it continued to sky rocket.
The anxiety of missing out was overwhelming, until another co-worker mentioned coinbase. I immediately setup an account on Coinbase and purchased Ethereum. Than some Litecoin. The second one I was made fun of for picking up. I became that guy saying, "you should buy some Litecoin," like everyday.
I soon was approved on Quadrigacx a couple weeks later. Than Binance. I decided, and by "I," I mean wife and I. Who is an amazing person woman by the way!
Anyway, we decided it would be O.K. for me to place, $1000.00 in crypto computer land. We were okay with that much, being burned in the abyss or lost completely. Our family wouldn't starve and we had it saved anyway.
I swifty choose #TRON. Although when I finally got in, it was at 5 cents after I watched it just the day prior at 3 cents USD. I dropped it all in, I know probably a pretty bad idea, than waited.
I told my self, and even declared to the office, I would #hodl until March.
Unexpectedly, in a matter of 5 days my $tron went from 5 cents a token, to 34 cents. Of course I didn't sell at 34 cents. I had no idea what to do, my imaginary money was become 6X its value.
It through me off to say the least. I than watched it to drop to 29 cents.
What crazy roller coaster ride of emotional death had i signed my self up for were my thoughts. Sheesh.... I was up $5000.00.
So I SOLD.
I moved my gains into Ethereum, which than proceeded to go up 60% In a matter of a couple weeks while the rest of the market plummeted.
My $1000.00 original investment went to $8000.00 CAD...In a matter of a couple weeks.
Since than I have diversified and moved my gains into several tokens including Bitcoin.
On one hand I still cant believe it. On another, this is just the beginning.
Now months in and words such as Blockchain, FUD, Mining, Satoshi and stop buying so much $tron have become common place.
So here we are on an adventure now. A Blog about diversifying $1250 CAD into 100 tokens. This is my challenge and I make the rules. This should be fun.
I love sharing my views and success, as limited as that may be. And I love hearing about yours as well! Sharing is caring...right!?
I'm glad I'm part of the #steem community! Not for the money but for the principle. Yes it is great that I had some decent gains in the last couple weeks. But going forward this is more than just an investment in my eyes.
This will change the way we look at the World. We will now look at the world through..Crypto eyes.
Glad I could get this first blog done. If you guys and gals can let me know if i missed anything please comment and tell me. Im not 100% up on the steem community etiquette.
Cheers
