Riding through a foggy forest in the dark, I mistook a Mongol patrol for ghosts and ambushed them. After getting shot mid-air during a jump kick, I recovered to take down archers, dual-sword wielders, and shield bearers until the entire patrol was eliminated.

I was riding through a dense forest in the complete dark when I suddenly caught sight of several strange figures lurking ahead in the heavy fog. At first, they looked like ghosts drifting through the trees.

I decided to move in closer to investigate, so I sprinted my mount straight toward them and quickly realized they were not spirits at all, but rather a squad of Mongol soldiers patrolling along the road.

I instantly initiated a standoff, leaping off my horse to deliver a critical strike against one of the Mongols, and sent him flying backward into the dirt.

The moment my feet hit the ground, I targeted a nearby archer to prevent him from taking shots at me while I dealt with the rest.

Another archer was already drawing his bow string. As I lunged toward him and attempted a jump kick to throw him off balance, he let fly an arrow that struck me mid-air, knocking me down to the ground.

I scrambled up and charged at him again, landed a high kick to stun him before finishing him off with two precise sword strikes while the rest of the squad closed in on my location.

A dual-sword wielder rushed forward, but I parried his incoming strike and cut him down on the spot.

Next, a heavy shield bearer stepped up to engage me. I took a hit from his opening attack, but I quickly recovered, parried his next swing, and eliminated him instantly.

Scanning the battlefield, I noticed two Mongols were still standing. Another shield bearer tried to strike me down, but I dodged his incoming blows and shifted into the ideal fighting stance for breaking through shields. I struck back hard and cut him down with ease.

That left only a single Mongol remaining on the field. Instead of turning to flee into the dark forest, he charged directly at me and landed a solid blow.

I parried his follow-up attack and cut him down to finish off the final enemy of the patrol. Discovering that they were not holding any peasants hostage, I decided to quit the game for the night.
