My personal thoughts about Steemit.com - By @nachomolina
My personal thoughts about Steemit.com
When I look in detail at the current seizure generated on the platform Steemit.com, Due to his association with Tron and his subsequent reaction by the witness guild, multiple thoughts come to mind. Among them there are several aspects that I would like to develop in this publication and express my personal opinion in this regard.
Specifically it is:
What to do with my Steemit account?
What position should I take in the current crisis?
No less important is related to:
Is my money at stake?
Will my investment in the platform be a failure?
I must start from the idea that Steemit is a global financial ecosystem.
This to me means that a social media platform represents where we live, with minimal conditions to develop and stay "alive" over time.
Therefore, we are in the bosom of a society, we are a family and Steemit he is our son, our creation.
"The smile of a child keeps us", we are able to make the greatest of sacrifices to keep him smiling. From my own experience I must say that:
"Sometimes a father stops eating to feed his child."
Now let's think:
Who is able to abandon your child?, even in the most difficult moment.
Free governance is a blessing,
It takes into account the point of view of each person in a global system where decisions are made together and never by action of unilateral interests that are in the interest of a minority.
So, what is the guarantee of an open source system where you make life on a daily basis, exploiting your human resource in an investment of time and money, which aims to keep stable an economy that must pay your investment and guarantee growth.
The consensus protocol DPoS (Delegated Proof of Stake), on which the Steemit economy is based, which is also decisive for the selection of controls, has offered good results over time.
"Despite contributing to a more scalable blockchain, thanks to the increased amount of transaction processing per second, it has also become a double-edged sword."
DPoS, today it has shown some vulnerability. With the recent intervention of Tron in Steemit, which using millionaire accounts and the placement of thousands of STEEM in stake, in some user accounts, with this he intends to seize the democratic voting system, being able to secure the network in his name, based in the amount of chips accumulated.
At times like this, there seem to be no guarantees. Having to be forced to perform a power down for a period of thirteen weeks is more of a form of indirect dismissal!
Something like, like saying: "Get out, to another side that you won't need here anymore!". After two (2) consecutive years at Steemit.com, my growth is somewhat remarkable and my plans are to scale positions within the platform. Similarly, in my particular case, I take advantage of tokenization to do some trading and support my difficult economic position. Today with the changes generated within the ecosystem, which once represented an economic solution, now it is becoming one more problem to solve.
I know the case of many users in my country,
who have turned to the platform as a stable form of work, have made the best possible investment in Steemit to use as a family livelihood.
I always remember, when starting on the platform, the team's recommendations to make the correct use of this medium. Where they explicitly point out:
"Attention, Steemit is not a job, it is a decentralized platform that offers rewards to content creators. Consult your financial advisor before investing in cryptocurrency"
A very complete advice, condensed into such a short sentence. But I must say that sometimes necessity forces and all those colleagues who have left their jobs in the real world to dedicate themselves fully to publishing in this social media have to take drastic measures if they do not want to see their life project collapse. Perhaps, the migration to another interface like Steempeak, busy.org, among others, could be a suggestion to use as an emergency exit. But abandoning Steemit, our beloved son, is a very difficult decision for many to make.
It seems to me that this is basically decentralization, a world full of privileges where you can be "your own boss" without depending on the figure of an employer, a place where the value of a token is based on trust and not on a gross domestic product, where you are valued based on your effort and participation with income proportionally proportional to it.
"But also, decentralization can leave you on the street without notice, with just a few cryptocurrencies in a virtual portfolio."
There is a light in the midst of darkness, valuable users who dedicate themselves to deciphering the existing problem in search of reasonable solutions that will benefit everyone. It is good to find explanatory publications on my way, with news about current events.
I am very pleased to read the words offered by an influential user who I follow closely on the platform, as it is
@anomadsoul, expressed in the post: Challenge! - Steem: The Honey Badger of Communities
"It doesn't matter what Blockchain we are talking about or what coin is being discussed, the community is the most important part of it. Without it, without users, there would be no point of running a Blockchain."
This clears many of my doubts and makes me regain faith. For me it is a sign that despite interventionism, it has been shown that "In union there is strength and together we will achieve our objectives.
Lately, I have read all kinds of posts, some discouraging and others full of optimism. I hope that "optimism" will triumph and we will soon achieve absolute normality on the platform Steemit, so that the plans can continue without delays or interference that puts them at risk our psychological and spiritual stability.
I have seen many communities, healing trails, powerful users and complete teams withdraw their delegations and start power down.
That symptom does not indicate anything good. I hope you can rethink your ideas and come back, "If there is any chance of a comeback." Despite the fact that there is a great informative campaign, added to the fact that in blockchain everyone must know how to make their own decisions, I think that it would not be too much, a specific recipe offered officially about what should be the steps to follow in these moments.
"In my opinion, the average user of the platform feels confused and disoriented for not knowing what to do in reality."
I also think that new revenue is being affected, which can be driven away by mistrust of entering a conflicting social media platform.
I hope that this material, has managed to be understood by the majority, it corresponds to my culture and thoughts formed within Steemit.com over two consecutive years. I'm just trying to make an appeal to conscience and the dissemination of the objective points of view of each one of us, meanwhile things are back to normal and Steemit's destiny is truly clarified.
Thanks, for your kind attention.
