Hello, Weekend Experiences friends! I hope you are all doing very well. The prompts proposed by @galenkp are very interesting and even fun; you can find the original post here. Talking about positive things about myself is tricky; we usually tend to see the negative first and, at the very endāif at allāwe spot something positive. I donāt think I could list three hundred positive things about myselfāor at least I don't think so š¤ābut I can share three that I feel proud of and that I think define me as a person. I would like to invite
@yasmarit and
@erigm to participate as well. š§”
Could you think of and list 300 positive things about yourself? How about 3? What are they and why?
I used to always focus on my negative traits, mostly because I valued other people's opinions far more than my own. That was a huge mistake, as the only person who should judge me or offer criticism is myselfāunless, of course, itās constructive criticism from others. In those cases, I do take it into account and look to improve, because Iām certainly not perfect. However, seeing my own positive side has been a real struggle. I believe going through moments of introspection and solitude has helped me get to know myself better and recognize both the good and the bad in me.
The first positive thing I see in myself is that I always try to listen to others as much as I would like to be listened to. I enjoy having conversations where the other person doesn't feel pressured or afraid to tell me something, because Iāve been through those kinds of experiences myself. Listening is vital when communicating; we arenāt just there to learn about someone else's life, but to become a space where that person might need someone to truly listen without judgment. That is incredibly important. Iād love to find more people like that in my own life, but itās not always easy.
The second thing is that I am someone who truly treasures bonds. When I have a friendship, I always strive to make that person feel accompanied and trusted. Like everyone, Iāve made mistakes; Iāve stopped talking to people who were important to me and who might have still been in my life today. However, I try to hold onto the good memories and remind myself that we are all looking for connections, whether friendships or something more. Thereās no need to pressure yourself to fit in; the people who truly appreciate us will stay even during our worst moments, as long as we don't take their time, trust, or affection for granted.
The third thing is that I am always looking to understand and learn new things. Even though I can be a procrastinator, Iām always drawn to learning about my interests, such as psychology, writing, books, music, and movies. These are things that make me feel fulfilled, that have helped me through difficult times, and have served as my support system. Sometimes I sign up for courses in fields where I have zero prior knowledgeālike the administrative assistant course Iām taking nowābut I see it as a challenge to face new people and new experiences. Thatās something I like about myself and that I admire.
Well, I hope you all have a great weekend. May everything you do turn out well, and letās keep sharing here in this community and on Hive. Sending a hug! š¤
