A day at Vijay Vilas palace: exploring the majestic beauty of this palace

Welcome to my blog again. I'm so glad that you are here again. On 26 Feburary 2023 me and my husband went to Mandvi to spend some quality time together. This was the first time since we had a baby that we both went alone somewhere to spend time together for a whole day.
We Visit to a mandvi which is famous for pre wedding shoots and film shooting. Lagan and hum dil de chuke Sanam Bollywood movies shot at this palace.
We left for mandvi around 10 in the morning after having breakfast. That day the weather was good and sun was shining in the sky. It was neither cold or hot thay day. Perfect weather for go out.
About Mandvi:
Mandvi is a wonderful location to visit. If you are in kutch than must visit here. Or if you have come to visit kutch then do not miss that tour to Mandvi. Mandvi is a key attraction and tourist location in kutch (Gujarat) and a must visit town where you can visit vijay vilas palace, Mandvi beach, jain temple and some more places. You can spend and enjoy one whole day there.
How to reach there:
From my place mandvi is almost 100 km away and took 2-2:30 hours approx. Mandvi is located in the kutch district of Gujarat.
From bhuj to Mandvi distance is almost 58km which take 1 hour approx. Bhuj is well connect with others cities so via bhuj you can easily reached there. You can see kutch map below, which helps you to reach there :
About Vijay Vilas palace and my experience:
The megestic vijay vilas palace is a beautiful , famous and historical palace surrounded by greenery and a private beach. This palace wad built by maharao shri khengarji who was the maharo of Kutch. They built this beautiful palace for his son shri vijayaraj ji . Therefore this palace named Vijay vilas palace.
The palace built in the early 20 century. Year is 1920-1929. Earlier they used that palace as a Summer resort. This is an airy palace.
The architecture is a blend of rajput and European styles. Where we can enjoyed hand-painted wall frescoes, stone carved window & balconies, beautifully and well mentioned dining hall , metting room and kutch leopard & many more .

This is the first picture i clicked there after parking the car and before enter the palace entry gate. I feel like that I'm going to a beach area and couldn't imagine that there would be such a beautiful palace inside. But i was so excited to saw that palace.

After enter the main gate there is a beautiful garden than you can enjoy the first view of the palace. Look :
The very first sight of vijay vilas palace
Look at this majestic palace ,this look is enough to leave you spell bound. After capturing our photographs in front of this palace look we entered in the palace.
First we hired a guide who charged 200 INR(a decent amount). Taking slippers inside the palace is not allowed. That guide tell us that the royal family now reside permanently in this palace.
Stepping into this palace feel like entering in a grandeur place. Look at that corridor how amazing it is.
Walking through the palace corridor we enjoyed that beautiful hand-painted frescoes.
This is kutch leopard. Although it is original, it has been chemically processed and kept here.
This is orignal huge tigar almost 4 feet big and kept with chemical process.
This is the center part from where we can enjoy the view of garden.
This is the dining hall .. which is also so beautiful and well maintained. Public is not allowed to enter these rooms.

There were many photos hanging on the wall of corridors.

Pictures of films scenes which shoot here at this beautiful palace. Pictures name are lagan and hum dil de chuke sanam.

After visiting corridor we went to terrace of this palace.
Terrace is so big and airy. Window is beautiful which give elegant look.
I love this view so much.
Look at that jharokas which also called jali or grills. That jharokha's are stone carved with beautiful designs.
These pictures i captured from the top. From here we enjoyed beautiful view and feel refreshing air.
This is a beautiful and perfect place for photography. If you love to photographs you will definitely like this place.
After roaming on the palace terrace we went the garden behind the palace. Where we can enjoy the palace back look. Which was also so mesmerizing.
There were many people who captured there photographs and makeing pre wedding shoot.

Garden is also beautiful and well mentioned. I don't have whole garden picture but in real this is so beautiful to spend time.
We can tour this palace in one hour easily.
After enjoying this palace view we went to mandvi beach which experience I'll share in my upcoming blog.
