Ahh - the Steem Dream!
It is only in the last couple of months that I found out about Steem, let alone about what is involved with being a whale.
I was told there are some who were there when the Cryptocurrency first formed or in it's early days. With consistent work they now have a living and an immense amount of Steem Power based on this. These lucky and wise people are living the Utopian dream.
What would I do if I was one of them? That is to be looked into. Because it is not just about the money. Yes - I have to admit that I have been working since I was 21 years of age. It would be nice to put down my stethoscope and retire a bit earlier to a comfortable life of blogging with gardening and parenthood on the side (ahh...).
There is more to it than that.
Since I have joined Steem, I have discovered a group called "Freewrite". I am up at 04:30 every morning writing my Freewrite entry and then, as time (and my son) permit throughout the course of the day, I review the work of others. I am enjoying myself like I have not done in this field for many, many years.
Being a whale is not just money, it is power. The power to sponsor writers who need more support. The power to provide 
Some of the whales have recently been conducting a competition where 50 Steem is the first prize!! 50 Steem!! Now that is the idea of a real prize!! By the time the closing date comes there will be close to approx. 150 entries (I suspect - I haven't counted but I am one of them!). That is the power to make a difference.
Power creates power. Within this field that is never more true. Through what has become my favorite medium, I would love to become a Steem Whale so I can share the power and the love.
